The Newport Street project was one of the most complex builds ever undertaken by Spire House Developments at the time. Eight apartments were constructed in a mixture of conversion, extension and new build. Built in 2017, the scheme involved a high number of industry professionals to design and build the various elements.
Formerly a commercial office building, the second and third floors were converted into one bedroomed apartments. A mansard roof structure, utilising a steel frame and timber shell provided two further one bedroomed apartments. A new build coach house was also built over the existing car park, to form two new two bedroomed apartments with parking.
Each apartment was finished to a high standard with fully integrated appliances. Located within Old Town, the apartments are close to the up market bars and restaurants of Swindon and were a hit for those who wanted to be within walking distance of the town.
